Team
Update:
Matt
just sent us some pics that were taken over the last
few days. Matt is also heading of to Dubai for the
X-games on Monday and we wish him all the best for
that. This is the first time a SA rider has been entered
into the X-games and if he does well at the Dubai
event there is a chance he could qualify for the USA
event next year.

Thanks
to James Plumbridge for shooting the pics!
Colin
also sent us a mail to say that he has been building
the jumps at Giba Gorge. It looks like these jumps
are coming up really fast, so it shouldn't be long
before the guys are riding them. Here are a few snaps
that he sent us.

At
the rate these things are going up it wont be long
before the guys are sessioning these bad boys!

Weekend
Update:
This
weekend turned out to be a busy one for team riders
and friends all over the country. Between our mission
to Witbank on the weekend and the curb jam on sunday
it was certainly busy on our side. It started out
on Saturday morning where we all me up at the Riot
store before headed out on the freeway. Team rider
Brendon Jacobs is also in town so it was good to see
him joining us for the mission. The drive to Witbank
was a pretty long one but once we arrive we were greeted
by a bunch of the locals. This town really has a good
scene and it was great to meet so many new faces.
Due to the bad weather we headed out to ride some
backyard trails instead of searching the streets for
spots. the trails were pretty worn out but were a
lot of fun none the less.
Tyrone
missioned all the way there with his monster bag of
equipment only to discover he had forgotten his memory
cards at home! luckily Jon had his camera there so
he gave Tyrone the card out of his and we managed
to snap a few pics before the rain came down.

Some
of the crew at the trails...

Brendon
with a cranked table out of the wall ride.

Savage
with a foot jam nosepick on the wall ride. this pic
was taken seconds before the rain came pouring down.
And for those of you who thought Savage only rode
street then you are in for a big surprise! Check back
tomorrow for video footage of savage getting RAD on
the jumps.
On
Sunday was the "Bite The Curb" event and
the Empire boys cleaned up at this one. Brendon jacobs
took home first place followed by Stephen Savage in
second, with Paul Soderlund taking the third place
spot. Well done to our guys for doing so well!

Here
is a shot of Brendon and Savage taken during prize
giving. The event was a huge success with tons of
kids turning up to session the Kempton Park civic
center. Devon Tosselli filmed the whole thing so you
can be sure a web edit will be online shortly. Some
awesome riding went down so keep your eyes peeled
for that.
Down
in Durban Colin Loudon has given his bike a once over
and it is looking mighty fine indeed! We will be posting
a revised bike check up tomorrow so have a look at
his team page tomorrow to get the full run down. For
now here is a quick snap of his steed.

Colin
also headed out of a Photo shoot for the next Fox
ad and while he was doing his thing ian Loudon snapped
these pics for us...

Colin
carving the infamous beach curved walls.

Big
look back at the beach park.

Pedal
stall at waterworld.

Here
he is with a lawnmower stall at waterworld while the
rain clouds roll in.
Finally
Brad Rowlett also sent us a message to let us know
that they have started building the dirt jumps at
Giba gorge in KZN. This venue is an awesome spot and
if you check the news regularly you may remember the
demo that some of our riders did there a few months
back. Well the guys are now getting the trials running
and hopefully they will be ready in time for the Fox
Pro Am in December.

Here
is a snap Brad sent us of the work in progress...
that's it for today, more news tomorrow.

Team
pics and a new forum:
Tyrone
Bradley sent through these 2 pics of Buddy Chellan
and Stephen Savage. Tyrone has been shooting tons
of pics lately and its rad to see so many of them
getting published in Blunt and other mags.

This
pic of Buddy was taken at the festival Mall park.
Here Buddy blasts a look back on the mini.

By
the looks of it the lady in this pic dressed up especially
to match Savages bike! This pic was taken during the
street session last weekend. Tomorrow we are all heading
out on a little trip to Witbank to go and session
some fresh turf. Check back for pics and news on how
that goes.

Finally
there is a new site up called BMXcentral (www.bmxcentral.co.za)
which is basically a community forum for SA BMX riders.
Brad Illingworth got this off the ground and although
it has only been up 1 day there is already a fair
bit going on there. Click on the image above to link
to the site and get posting!

Savage
on BMXonline:

Wayne
Reiche just gave us a heads up to say that Stephen
Savage has a nice little feature on the BMXonline
web page. It is a sequence of Savage blowing up on
a big 360 set in California and a little story to
go with it. Check it out by clicking
HERE.

Savage
and Colin:
Buddy
has been in town for a week now and this weekend team
riders Stephen Savage and Colin Loudon also came up
to JHB to hang out and get some filming done. This
weekend the whole crew went out and rode street in
the CBD and the guys were throwing down all over the
place.

Colin
was also finishing up shooting pics for his blunt
article so between all the video cameras and still
cameras we had quite a setup! Colin also just got
hooked up on FOX, so he now joins Buddy Chellan as
the second FOX team rider in SA. Congrats Colin!

It
was also great to catch up with Savage after his long
trip to the USA! Stephen was ripping up the streets
as usual and has all of his tricks on lock down. Stephen
will be staying in town for a week or so to get some
last minute footage for his part so we will keep you
posted on all the riding that goes down.

Toby
Bike Check:

James
from West Coast BMX sent us this snap of Toby Gronewalds
new ride. Toby just built up a new DK RT and this
bike is dialed! He has built it up with a bunch of
Fly, Odyssey, and Coalition parts and its looking
very good if we don't say so ourselves. Look for Toby
to be shredding his new machine at Gum Trails shortly...

Sunday
Street Missions:
This
weekend a bunch of us went out on a street mission
in JHB and ended coming back with quite a lot of footage.
Buddy and Tyrone were getting stuff done all over
the place, and were getting clips in the most random
of places.

Tyrone
spotted this little drain / ditch and decided he could
bump jump 180 over the wall. The run up and bump you
have to pop off is super sketchy, and right when you
need to pull up the ground curves downwards. Tyrone
was a trooper though and got it done no problem.

Later
on in the day we headed to the civic center. This
place is crazy with so many lines and possibilities.
A few of the guys were sessioning this double set
of stairs with wall rides down the first set and then
180's and 360's down the second. After hitting the
first set a few times Buddy eyed up both sets and
just blasted a wall ride over both! Thanks to Brad
Illingworth for the pics.

Buddy
also shot this rad bike check for us over the weekend.
run down on his latest ride.

Colin
Update:
As
we mentioned at the beginning of the month Odyssey
team rider Colin Loudon is down in Cape Town shooting
and filming for his interview / video. Well he called
to let us know what has been going down and by the
sounds of it things are getting out of hand! Unfortunately
you are going to have to wait for his interview to
see the pics, but its going to be worth the wait...
Wayne Reiche sent us this pic of Colin shredding the
dirt quarter at the trails to give you guys a taste
of what is to come. Thanks Wayne!

We
also mentioned yesterday that a bunch of new Odyssey
items are on the way, and today we have a few pics
of these items.

First
up are the new "Blood" trailmix pedals.
These look absolutely amazing! And will be in stores
in the next few weeks. This is a limited edition run,
so if you want a set of these its probably a good
idea to book a set with your local store. These things
are going to move FAST!

The
new Banton grips are also coming in these two new
colours. Lava and red marble grips will be in stores
shortly, and these are also limited items so they
wont be in stock for long. We will keep you updated
as these items arrive.
The
new Blunt mag has also hit the shelves and once again
there is tons of BMX coverage in there. Team riders
Buddy Chellan and Colin Loudon both got full page
pics!

The
mag also features a dope article on the 7th Riot Jam
and a full length interview with Jordon Anthony. Once
again make sure you grab a copy of this issue!

Buddy
in town:

Fly
bikes team rider Buddy Chellan in up in JHB escaping
the rainy weather in Cape Town. Last night the guys
hit up the Monte park and the park was getting sessioned
in a big way. Tyrone snapped this awesome pic of Buddy
blasting the hip. While he is up here Buddy will also
be filming for the video so we will keep you updated
on that as well.

The
guys from Son Skate also sent us a mail to say that
they are having an event in December. The event is
going to incorporate BMX, skate, and inline and is
going to cater for riders of all skill levels. If
you are in the area around that time make sure you
check it out.
The
new Federal goods have also just arrived and are being
unpacked as we speak. We will have pics and info on
all those products up in the news tomorrow. We also
have a new shipment of Odyssey goods on the way as
we speak. This lot includes a bunch of new stuff including
Triumph bars in black and white, Sunday frames, Lava
and marble grips, trail mix pedals in blood and white,
Aitken Tyres, and Vandero 2 hubs to name a few.

Electronical:

The
guys at Odyssey just dropped the trailer for their
upcoming video "Electronical". Head on over
to www.odysseyelectronical.com
and check it out! This one is going to be big! Up
on the site they also have a bunch of download formats
so you can save it on your ipod or computer, and they
also have a stills gallery with tons of cool pics
from their trip to SA. Go have a look!

Speaking
of Odyssey... Local Odyssey team rider and general
glamour boy Colin Loudon is currently in Cape Town
shooting pics and filming for the Empire video. Colin
has an interview in the upcoming issue of Blunt and
Wayne is shooting all the pics for that while he is
down there.

Finally
FBM team rider Brad Illingworth gave his bike a make
over last week and we have done a new bike check for
him up in the team page. Click
here to check it out.
