Pictures
and Products:
Wayne
Reiche sent through these two awesome pics of Sunday
team rider Stephen Savage. The pics were taken at
the top of cape Town near the Bo-Kaap area. Stephen
may be a street dog but he sure knows how to shred
a ramp!

A
number of new products have come in over the last
week or so however due to the tour updates we never
had the chance to get them up. So here is a run down
on some of the new products. First up are the new
Sunday Vinnie Sammon frames. These come in Vinnie's
signature glitter black colour way, and feature the
"New Wave" down tube and gusset.

We
also have a number of new Odyssey products back in
stock including 2 new limited colour linear cables.
The two new colours are pink, and teal. These are
already shipping to stores so if you think one of
these colours suits you then head on down to your
local bike store and pick one up.

The
first of the Coalition Products are also now in stock.
We have front hubs and cassette hubs in either black
or camo colours. The cassette hubs come with either
a one piece 9T driver or a 2pc 10, 11, 12 tooth cogs.
Team riders, Buddy Chellan, Brad Illingworth, Stephen
Savage, and Tyrone Bradley are all running these hubs
and they have been getting very good reviews from
all of the guys.

Coalition
seats and seat posts are also in stock and these follow
through with the black / camo colour scheme. We had
the camo seat up at the Cycle Tour Expo and people
were loving it. The seats feature the popular slim
shape, and feature tough kevlar covers. All Coalition
products are in stores now!

Finally,
our web page will be switching to a new server tomorrow
so if you experience any technical problems now you
know why. We have been told that there shouldn't be
any disruption to our site but if there is hopefully
it will be all sorted out by Monday. have a good weekend,
and check back for updates next week.

That's
a wrap:
Well
the tour has finally come to an end. The last few
day in Cape Town were pretty much rained out, so we
spent most of our time dodging rain clouds while doing
some sight seeing. On Saturday we headed out to West
Coast BMX to hang out at the shop and do some autograph
signing. When we arrived there the store was already
packed with locals watching videos, and it was great
to see so many riders braving the cold to come hang
out at the shop.

Thanks
to James for letting us hang out at the store, and
we hope that everyone who came through had a good
time. The next few days were spent sight seeing and
showing the visitors around Cape Town.

While
we were visiting all of the sights Tyrone shot this
pic of the crew. Despite the last few rainy days the
trip was a huge success and we hope that all of you
managed to meet up with us at some point during the
tour. A big thank you must go out to everyone who
made this trip possible, including, Tyrone Bradley
for all his hard work and support, FOX, Odyssey, Leandro
at 2 One 4, the Reiche Family, the Wemmers, Brad @
The Riot, Steven Savage and Family, the Siebers Family,
as well as everyone else we have forgotten that helped
make this possible. We hope to see you all again soon.

Beating
the rain:
So
we had to move the trail jam forward a day to avoid
the rain and its a good thing we did. It is pouring
today with absolutely no chance of any riding taking
place. Yesterdays trail jam was a huge success though,
and the trails were running super smooth. By lunch
time the place was packed, with cars parked all the
way down the road, and a lot of old and new faces
showing up. Wayne and his crew did an amazing job
with the jumps, and all of the riders were stoked
to be able to ride all of the lines. Here are some
pics from the session.

Here
is an overview of the freshly groomed trails.

Chase
boosting the hip into the clam shell.

Eddy
with a whip on the dirt quarter.

Mike
with a 360 kan-kan x-up mid section.

Mike
blasting the last set.

Mike
with a big nose dive 360.

Mike
tweaking a turn down mid section.
We
are heading down to West Coast BMX today to hang out
at the shop and sign some autographs. Then we are
going to do some sight seeing and wait out the rain.
Thanks again to Wayne for dialing in the trails for
all of us! And a big thanks to everyone who came out
and rode the trails.

Gum
Trails Session:
We
just got in to Cape Town and the weather is looking
pretty shady. The weather report says that it is most
likely going to rain on Saturday so we are going to
hit up the trails on Friday (18th) instead. If you
plan on coming down we should be riding from around
1:00 PM till late. We stopped at the trails today
and they look amazing! Wayne and his crew have got
every single line running, so you know it is going
to be a lot of fun. Check back for pics tomorrow.

Port
Elizabeth Session:
The
weather was terrible when we rolled into PE. The plan
was to spend a day there and then keep going towards
Cape Town, but after the rain came down we decided
to stick around for and extra day so that we could
do some filming in and around the beach front. Tyrone
Bradley filmed the line of the day by pulling a kinked
ledge manual, to 50/50 down a rail, to 180 out. A
lot of other good stuff went down during the course
of the day, and after the sun went down we packed
up and headed on to Cape Town. Here are some pics
from the PE stop.

Brad
Simms with a ledge feeble.

Chad
Shackelford with an elbow glide into the sunset.
A
big thanks to the Siebers family for letting us stay
at their place while we were in PE! The weather isn't
looking too good for Cape Town so the trail jam scheduled
for this weekend may be moved forward to Friday. Check
back for updates and info an any date changes.

Gateway
Session:
Yesterday
we had a really mellow session at Gateway. Everyone
was pretty tired from 11 days on the road, so the
session was a laid back affair. Most of the attention
was focused on the snake run with Chase and Mike blasting
huge airs over the hips. Tyrone, Brad Illing, Brad
Rowlett, Rupert, Kyle, and Greg Illing were also shredding
the snake run with plenty of high speed trains going
down. Here are some pics from the session. Thanks
to Tyrone for the pics!

Chase
Hawk with a big boost.

Mike
with a big turn down.

Mike
again with a big invert.
Today
we head out to PE so we have plenty of driving ahead
of us. More updates coming your way tomorrow...

Durban
update number 2:
The
last few days we have been in and around Durban riding
all of the spots that KZN has to offer. After riding
the HUX park on Thursday night, the guys decided to
head out and ride the beach park and street on Friday.
Here are some pics of what went down.

The
sub behind the little bowl was getting a lot of attention.
Here Mike sticks a solid foot jam on the wall.

Brad
Simms did one of the biggest peg stalls anyone had
ever seen! He hopped into this off of the flat!

Stephen
has been wanting to spin these stairs for a little
while now and finally got the chance to do it. Its
hard to see from this angle but these stairs are super
long, and the run up is pretty sketchy, but Stephen
pulled it no problem.
On
Saturday we went out to the Indigo Skate Camp in the
valley of 1000 hills. The mini ramp had just been
resurfaced so it was running really well, but the
vert ramp was as shady as ever. This didn't stop Chase
hawk and Brad Simms though, and were blasting crazy
high on the ramp.

Here
is Chase blasting an invert in the mid day heat.

While everyone was down
at Indigo we also went hiking down the river, with
everyone taking the chance to swim in the river.

We
also managed to catch a glimpse of the "lesser
spotted short stop" (a distant relative of the
creature known as gollum) while we were walking amongst
the rocks.

When
it got too dark to ride at Indigo we packed up and
headed to the Serepta Church where they have just
completed the first phase of their new skate park.
Richard from the church was kind enough to organise
some lights for us so we could ride into the evening,
and there were plenty of locals in attendance as well.

Here is a pic of Brad
Simms with a turn down on the mini.

Tyrone Bradley was also
shredding the new setup. Here he is with a sweet table
on the mini.

Mike
finished off the evening with a banger! He fast planted
over the tree and into the volcano the other side.
Needless to say everyone was blown away by his riding.
Thanks to Richard from Serepta for organising the
session, and we hope that the park goes from strength
to strength.
Today we are heading
to Wave House for a scheduled stop so make sure you
come through and check it out.

Durban
Day 1:
Today
all the guys headed to "HUX Skate park"
(formerly known as Island Style Skate park) for their
first ever bike session. Gavin who owns the park was
cool enough to let all of us ride there and the session
was crazy. Gavin was so stoked on all the riding that
he has now agreed to make Tuesday and Thursday nights
bike nights at the park! So from here on out bikes
will be allowed to ride there from 2:30 - 7:00pm on
those days. Make sure you head down there and check
the park out because it is a really fun setup, with
endless lines. Here are some pics of what went down.

Brad
Illingworth with a big old school no hander from the
quarter to the flat bank.

Brad
again, this time with a toboggan on the extension.

Colin
Loudon with a foot jam whip on the mini ramp.

Jimmy Reynolds with a
hang over tooth pick
Mike Aitken with a massive
allyoop invert.

Mike
blasting a huge look back out of the extension.
A
big thanks must go out to Gavin for letting us ride
the park last night! Today the guys are heading out
to ride some street in and around Durban so check
back tomorrow for news and info on what went down.

Tour
Update:
We
just rolled into Durban last night so now its time
to fill you in on what went down over the last few
days. First up we have few more pics from X-fest.

Here
is an overview of the dirt setup.

Tyrone
Bradley with a big no foot step thru on the second
set.

Mike
Aitken with a big nothing over the last set.

The
next day we picked up Chad Shackelford and Brad Simms
and then headed to the Lion Park. This place was amazing,
and you were able to drive right amongst the lions.
The lions were pretty excited to have some people
around and proceeded to try and rip as much stuff
off of the cars as they could. The bike rack was almost
ripped right off Jon's car by these two, and after
they were finished with his car the proceeded to rip
the windscreen wiper off Tyrone's car as well.

The
park was a lot of fun and everyone had a good time.
After seeing the adult lions we went back to the main
camp where we were able to handle some of the lion
cubs. Here is Chase with his new buddy.

Next
up on the trip was a session at Wits University. Unfortunately
all the still cameras were switched out for video
at this stop, but Mike did manage to snap this pic
of Colin doing a whip down some stairs.

Our
last stop in JHB was the Germiston bowl. This place
is always a lot of fun, and all of the guys were blasting
at this stop. Here is a snap of Mike with a cranked
look back out of the deep end.
Today
we are heading out for the first ever bike session
at the old Island Style park. If all goes well today
they said they are prepared to let bikes in on a permanent
basis which is great news. Check back for updates
on that session tomorrow.

X-fest
day 2:
Due
to the Johannesburg marathon taking place today was
a lot quieter then yesterday, and a lot less spectators
made the trip out to the Festival. That didn't stop
the level of riding going through the roof though,
and all of the riders were killing it through the
section. You could see that all of the Ams were a
lot more comfortable then yesterday, and a lot more
tricks were being thrown down. The pros were also
having a lot of fun and some big trains were going
down through the lines. At the end of the weekend
the pros voted for the rider they thought deserved
to walk off with the prize, and that rider was Devin
Toselli. Devin rode very well with smooth style and
big nose dive 360's. Devin won a years sponsorship
through the Riot BMX store where he will receive a
years supply of Odyssey parts! Not bad for a weekends
riding.
Here
are a few pics from day 2 of X-fest.

Brad
Illingworth with an old school no hander over the
second set.

Brad
Again with a big flip over the last set.

Chase
Hawk with a stylish 360 table over the last set.

Am
class winner Devin Toselli with a 360 mid section.

Matt
McLeod with a big 360 1 hander over the second set
in the main line.

Mike
Aitken with a one footed downside 360 over the last
hip.
Well
that is it from X-fest. It turned out to be an awesome
event with some of the best jumps we have seen to
date. Thanks to everyone who came out and rode, and
hopefully we will see this event happen again next
year. Tomorrow we are heading down to the Germiston
Bowl so check back for an update on that.

X-fest
day 1:
Today
was the first day of X-fest and it was awesome to
see so any riders showing up to ride. The dirt setup
is one of the best ever seen in a local contest, with
2 really fun lines that have some great transfers.
Everyone has been saying how much fun the jumps are
so big props must go out to Tyrone, Colin, Brad, Greg,
and all the others who built the jumps. The whole
event is very laid back with no real schedule to speak
of. Everyone has pretty much been riding at their
own pace which worked out great because it meant that
there was riding happening all day long. Here are
a few pics form the first day.

Here
Chase Hawk blasts a big transfer from one line to
the other.

Another
pic of Chase, this time floating a big 360 over the
middle set in the main line.

Colin
Loudon with a cranked turn down.

Matt
Mc Leod with a nothing over the second set.

Mike
Aitken with a massive table mid section.

Tim
Dell with a turn down.
That's
it for today. Tomorrow is day 2 of the event and then
we are heading out to hit up some spots in and around
Johannesburg. Check back for updates.

News,
news, news:
Jimmy
just got back from Mozambique and now has aspirations
of becoming a pirate. He says he had an awesome time
and they have plans to do it all over again in the
near future. Unfortunately Jimmy managed to cut his
leg pretty bad while riding street in Maputo which
limited the amount of time he was able to ride and
surf, but it sounds like he loved the trip none the
less.

In
other news we have just received confirmation that
Brad Simms will be joining Mike Aitken and Chase Hawk
on the trip. Chad Shackelford and Walter Peringer
will be coming along as well to document everything
that happens. Local riders Tyrone Bradley, Stephen
Savage, and Greg Illignworth will also be coming along
(with possibly a few others as well) so it looks set
to become an great trip. Brad Simms also sent us these
pics of himself that were taken this past weekend...
And you thought he only rode street!

Starting
this weekend the news page will be converted into
a road trip blog as we did with the Gate Crash tour.
You will be able to log on daily and see exactly what
has been happening on the road. For dates and info
on each of the stops check the posts in last months
news.
Fly
bikes new DVD "Dos" just came in yesterday
and it is super good. The video revolves around two
road trips, one to Spain and one to News Zealand.
The beginning of the video features some really nice
interviews with all of the road trip members, and
you get to see where all of them live and what the
do on a daily basis. These will be in stores by the
weekend so head on down there and check it out.
