Empire of Dirt:

The guys have made it down to the Empire of Dirt and have been hitting up the course. Tyrone sent us a mail letting us know what has been happening and here is what he had to say...

"Yo, I am again Tomatie, haha. Got some red tinge going on after today's
practice sesh, haha. Sun was blazing. Buddy never rode today because his
hub has fucked out. He's getting a new one tomorrow so will still get
tomorrow's practice session to get used to the jumps. He's nuts to keep
his brakes off. Almost all of the brakeless dudes have put brakes on but
Buddy's gonna do it real deal, haha. my boy!
Colin managed to get permission to ride the course but is not gonna be in
the comp. The massive curved wall is his opposite and he kept bitching at
it so I told that's how the "V" starts so next go he charged through,
haha.
After practice we headed to Kye's barn and had a session there and played
in the table tennis comp. yeah, table tennis.. good times."

Here are some pics he sent through.

Colin hitting up the slope style half pipe.

Some of the riders training through the section.

Epsom Trails:

Yesterday the guys hit up John Robinson's trails in Epsom. This place has tons of lines and the guys had a lot of fun here. Craig Bavery was also in attendance (AKA "My Jump" from the Yellow wood trails) and Ty claims he is making a comeback on the BMX scene which is good to hear. Here are some pics from the session.

Dan McGuery (spelling) with a sweet invert.

Dan again with a superman.

The trail man himself John Robinson getting stylish.

The guys left for Devon this morning where Buddy will be riding in the Empire of Dirt event. The course for this one looks crazy and they will be having live updates on the site this weekend covering the event. Head over to www.redbullempireofdirt.com and take a look around.

UK update and Bigwood2:

Tyrone checked in with us again to let us know what they have been up to in the UK. He said that the weather turned bad on them so James Plumbridge came through and picked them up to take them to Adrenaline Alley. Apparently this park has something to do with Zach Shaw and Ty says the park was well worth the 150km drive to get there.

Unfortunately Tyrone went down in the middle of the session and thinks he has cracked his ribs! Get well soon man! It seems he will be taking it easy for the next few days, but for now here are some pics of their travels...

The Bigwood 2 exhibition we spoke about on Thursday also opened last night and a bunch of the guys went down for the opening. The show was really good and even the elusive Warren Miller was spotted at the show! If you guys are into art and are in Durban make sure you stop by and check it out.

Yesterday the guys also hit up the Camden park and this is what Tyrone had to say...

"Anyhow.... I GOT TO SEE BRIAN YEAGLE RIDE IN PERSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Him, Doyle, Clint Reynolds, Stew Johnson and John Dye showed up at the
Camden Park. We were psyched. Buddy would've nailed a sweet sequence
(handle bar railing grind to hop over down bank) if it weren't for some
cock telling us our go's were over due to excessive noise.
Park was pretty busy and we had to hussle to get runs so we basically all
just watched the others ride."

Here are a few pics he sent us of the park and of Yeagle doing what he does best.

Well that's the news so far from the guys. Empire of Dirt is just around the corner and the guys will be hading down that way later this week so stay tuned for news on that! Tomorrow we are heading down to Durban for the Bigwood 2 exhibition which should be good. We will post some pics when we get back.

Team Updates:

Well Colin and Tyrone have made it to the UK in one piece and are now traveling around with Buddy hitting up a bunch of spots in the UK. The guys are shooting an article for Blunt mag which is going to be really good as Tyrone has just got a new camera ad the pics he has been sending us look insane!

Yesterday the guys hit up the Chertsey trails and Tyrone says the riding was nuts. Ty reports that Warren is killing the place and rides the place super good (look for pics in the article). Colin and Ty also gave their bikes a once over before they left and Ty shot some dope bike checks at the trails which we will post up in later this week.

So far the guys are having a real good time and we will keep you posted on what goes down during their trip.

Wayne Reiche also sent us some pics of Stephen Savage ripping it up in Cape Town. Savage is also working for "the B" @ Fittees now, and some of you might have seen his "model shots" surfacing on the net. If you are in Cape Town and looking for some new clothing make sure you stop by and say whats up to the guys. Here are a few snaps that Wayne took.

Wayne also sent through this pic of our favorite WuTang fan James Brawn with this fakie to bars at the same spot.

That's it for today. Hopefully the revised site will be up by the end of the month.... But don't hold your breath!

Buddy News and Old School Rules:

we must apologise for the lack of updates over the last few weeks. We actually have a new version of the site running in the background however ironing out all the little bugs is taking longer then expected (which is why we haven't been spending too much time on this one). Anyway, we hope you guys will like it once its up and running. For now though we have another update from Buddy.

Buddy has been making his way around Europe and says the trip has been great thus far. He has just finished up in Portugal and sent us some snaps of all the spots he found. It looks like there is some crazy good stuff to rider there! Colin and Tyrone are now on their way to the UK to meet up with Buddy, and with the 3 of them riding together you know some good stuff is going to go down.

In other news Brad Illingworth has been busy on a little side project which involves building up an old FBM "Angel of Death" frame. When you look at those bikes from the 90's and compare them to the ones of today its hard to believer people could even get them off the ground! The bike is looking sweet though! ANd he has tons of period specific parts to go with it like 48 hole triple wall rims, bottleneck stem, and AD990 brakes. Here is a quick look at the work in progress, and we will update you with a full bike check when it is complete.

WCBMX x Son Skate comp:

The Son Skate comp went down this weekend and by the looks of it the event went very well. James from West Coast BMX has done a write up HERE, and below are some pics from the comp we poached off their site. For more you can head over to www.westcoastbmx.co.za

Boogaloos also held a comp at their park in PTA over the weekend. A few of the team also made an appearence at that event and Colin Loudon ended up taking 3rd spot in Pro. Congrats to Mr fancy hair for that!

In related news Colin Loudon and Tyrone Bradley are heading over to the UK next week to hook up with Buddy Chellan. The crew has plans to shoot tons of pics for an upcoming feature in Blunt mag so stay tuned for updates and news on that!
