they are finalised.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Well
2005 is almost at an end, and what a year it has been!!! When
you look back its amazing how many great things have happened
in SA BMX in the past 12 months. 2006 promises to be no exception,
and we have a lot of new projects planned for the coming year.
To
start with, the first shipment of DK bikes will be arriving
in the new year. We are really excited about representing
DK in South Africa, and we will keep you posted with arrival
dates as they are finalised. You may also have noticed that
we will be moving into our new premises early next year. With
the addition of DK bicycles, as well as the expansion of our
current brands, the move into the new warehouse is a welcome
one. Much to the team riders delight we are also going to
be adding a "Nibbler Ramp" at the new spot so that
should also be a lot of fun.
The
coming year also holds a lot of great new products from our
brands, so look for these in the coming months. We also have
some exciting team news, as well as some new projects in the
works, but you will have to wait a little longer before we
fill you in on those. We hope you all have a great New Years!
And we will be back with more updates in January! We leave
you with this pic of Buddy Chellan and his "Party Ride".
Over and out...

-----------------------------------------------------------------
We
have some more product news from Fly Bikes for all of you.
Firstly the long awaited Fly cranks have finally gone into
production, and they will be available early next year. These
feature a super hollow 22mm chromolly spindle that is lighter
then any titanium spindle on the market!!! They also use a
single bolt to secure both arms to the spindle which saves
a lot of weight as well. By using the hollow chromolly spindle
and the one bolt technology they are able to make the cranks
very light but also keep the price down. Look for these to
be in stores early next year.

The
new Ruben Alcantara grips will also be released at the same
time. The Fly grips will be sold individually so you wont
have to buy a whole new set of grips when only one has worn
out. They will also come in 2 different lengths so you can
run a shorter one on your lever side and a longer one on the
other. these will be available in white, orange, dark green,
and black.

We
are proud to announce that Empire Cycle Supply are now distributing
DK Bicycles in South Africa. This has been in the
works for some time now and we are very excited about representing
DK in SA. DK have a strong heritage in BMX, and have been
producing quality Frames, Forks, components, and complete
bikes for many years. DK's complete bikes are some of the
best specked completes on the market, and there is a bike
to suit almost every riders needs. Right from the first time
rider who wants to get started in BMX, all the way up to top
of the line Pro ready completes, there is something for everyone.
The
first shipment of DK bikes and accessories will be available
in bike stores from early 2006. Until then check out
the products section and see what DK has available for 2006.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
We
just got back from the Riot Jam and it was an awesome weekend.
The Riot crew did an amazing job with this comp and everyone
who went said it was one of the best dirt set ups they had
ever ridden. A big congratulations must go out to Empire team
riders Colin Loudon and Tyrone Bradley who both finished
tie first place. These two rode amazingly well and
we are stoked on their well deserved placing's .>CLICK

-----------------------------------------------------------------
If
you didn't notice we have a link on the "Home"
page with some new and popular items that are available this
Christmas. These are by no means all of the products
that are available, but if you are looking to pick up some
new items for your bike this Christmas than you may want to
check these out. For a full list of all our products check
out the products page.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Another
reason to make sure you get to the Riot Jam. Federals second
video "9 1/2 Days in Germany" will
be premiered on the Saturday night. For directions to the
venue have a look at the map further down the page.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
We
just got back from our weekend in JHB and as usual it was
a great time. Our first stop of the weekend was the
New park at Brightwater Common and it was a lot of
fun. So much fun in fact that none of us even stopped to take
pictures. Tyrone Bradley and Colin Loudon were killing the
place, and the cradle was getting its fare share of abuse
with everyone enjoying going upside down. Because of the "phantom
comp" that was supposed to happen there were a lot of
riders in town so it was great to hang out with all the locals.
It is a super fun park so if you go up there make sure you
check it out. We do have one pic for you that was sent to
us by Devon so here it is.

After
we were done at the park we spent the rest of our time at
the venue for the next Riot Jam (December 3 and 4).
As you can see the setup is amazing!!! and the Guys from the
RIot have really outdone themselves this time around. There
is a 8 pack for the Am class and then a bigger 6 pack for
the Pros. The Riot crew have been working on them fro almost
2 months and as a result the jumps are so dialed. The spacing
is perfect and all the lips and landings are super smooth.
With most of SA's top riders coming up for the comp you can
be sure that the level of riding is going to be truly amazing.
There is also a huge fire pit for the after comp festivities,
as well as a big screen for watching videos. If you enjoy
riding dirt or just want to come hang out and party with everyone,
you absolutely cant miss this event! Brad and Greg are just
going to spend the next few days cleaning them up and smoothing
off the sides, and by the weekend the jumps will be ready
for action. For directions on how to get to the venue have
a look at the map we posted further down the page, or check
out the RIot web page at www.theriot.co.za.
Entry is open to all riders and spectators are welcome.

Here
is a view of the Pro Line from the top.

Here
is a view of the Am Line from the top.

These
are the last two jumps in the pro section.

Here
is a pic of the last 2 jumps in the am line.

This
is the fire pit where all the after comp festivities will
take place... Good times!
This
comp is going to be so much fun so make sure you don't miss
it. There is going to be a pro purse of R3000.00 as
well as product prizes for the ams sponsored by Odyssey, Fly
Bikes, and Federal. See you there!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
We
are about to head up to JHB for the weekend but here are some
products that came in today. We have just had an order
of FBM soft goods and DVD's arrive. We have fresh
stock of the Half and Half DVD as well as the Anniversary
DVD. Beer coozies, Belt buckles, thermals, and t shirts are
also back in stock. We also had one of the new Autopilot frames
arrive. This frame was a special order but will will be getting
stock of these in January. These frames look amazing and they
are available in a wide range of top tube lengths to suit
just about anyone. To get the specs on this frame check out
the FBM section in the products page.

We
are going up to Joburg this weekend to check out the new "Brightwater
common" skatepark and also get a sneak preview of the
setup for the Riot Jam. It seems as though the Brightwater
comp has evolved into more of jam then a comp but it should
be fun none the less. Its always great to ride a new park
and also catch up with the local riders. If you are in Jhb
this weekend make sure you stop by the park and come hang
out.
Plans
for the Riot Jam are going ahead nicely. Brad informed
us that the guys are already jumping the jumps so it sounds
like the comp is going to be really good. Prize money for
this years event is R3000.00 for the pros, and products prizes
will be given out to the ams. There is also a huge list of
pros heading up to JHB for the jam so if you haven't made
plans to attend make sure that you do so. Here is a map to
the venue.

Finally,
here is a pic of Federal team rider Tyrone Bradley.
Tyrone went out last night to a function for his work, and
this is the result of his "Networking" and "Team
Building" experience... I'm not sure if this is what
employers hope to archive with functions like these, but it
looks like Tyrone sure did have a good time.
