without bike checks, or the ones who were riding new setups.

Fresh bike checks with Tyrone Bradley, Paul Soderlund, and
Brendon Jacobs are all up there, and all the others have been

News:

It
has been absolutely crazy over here since the end of the tour.
Here is a run down of what has been happening over the last
few days. We just got the new issue of Source in stock and
it looks awesome! Issue 4 has a feature with Cape Town resident
and long time rider Toby Gronewald, as well as a bunch of
other features with local riders, SA BMX news, products, and
much more. We have been shipping these out with orders all
day so you should see them in your local bike store by the
weekend.
New
Odyssey goods are on the way, including ltd edition pedals,
ltd edition linear cables, Evo 2 brakes, ltd edition Hazard
light rims, New Sunday forks, and much more. Keep an eye out
for those to be in stores soon.
The
new DK bikes parts order has also arrived and we have been
shipping all these goods to stores over the last few days.
DK grips, Jump seat, DK chopstix cranks, and news DK T shirts
are all shipping to stores and should be available by the
weekend. Head on down to your local bike store if you are
looking for any of these items.
Two
of our team riders recently had nasty bails on their bikes.
Brendon Jacobs broke his collar bone at the Cato Manor plaza.
Brendon was doing a manual to no foot kan and was sent over
the bars resulting in the injury. Tyrone bradley also smashed
his front teeth out while shooting an advertisement for a
cell phone company. His front wheel went over the top of the
bowl while he was doing a high speed carve which sent him
face first into the concrete. We with Both these guys a speedy
recovery!

Crash Tour Day 7:

Today
was the last day of the trip and it was a belter! We hit up
Brightwater Commons this morning and then headed to Wits University
for a street session. All of the Brightwater locals showed
up as well as a bunch of the Chapel locals. Thanks to all
the riders who made a special effort to make it to the session!
It was awesome getting to meet all of you. Here are a few
pics from the BWC session.

Tyrone
Bradley blasting an invert over the hip.

Tyrone
with a manual down the kinked rail.
After
the park session we headed to Wits university to ride some
street. This park is pretty much a skate plaza, with street
rails, ledges, and stairs all over the place. Stephen Savage
owned this spot! He was on a level of his own, and was spinning
360's down stairs like it was nothing. Here are a few pics
from the street session.

Brendon
Jacobs with a high speed gap from the parking lot into the
street.

Clint
was charging rails all over the campus. Here he is with a
super high 50/50 grind down a rail.

Here
is Clint again sliding another campus rail. This rail was
pretty wobbly but Clint slid it perfect.

Mpho
has mad pop and was hopping stuff all over the place. Here
he is with a hop over a sculpture outside the art faculty.

Savage
was on fire at Wits, and destroyed every spot he came across.
Here he slides a ledge before immediately 360 hoping a big
set of stairs.

Here
is Savage with the 360 hop right after the ledge. Its pretty
had to grasp how tight this line was but it was nuts. Look
for the clip in the upcoming Empire video.

This
set of stairs was pretty high and super long, but Savage spun
them so smooth you didn't even hear him hit the ground. Needless
to say Savage gas his 360's dialed!

Tyrone Bradley fired off this
beauty of a rail on campus. The rail had a shady run up and
a post on the end of it, but Tyrone slid it perfect first
try.
And
with that we have come to the end of the tour. We have had
an absolutely amazing trip and we want to thank everyone who
came out and rode with us at the stops. It was awesome to
get to meet all of the locals and make so many new friends.
All of us have really enjoyed the trip and we look forward
to riding with all of you guys in the future. Look for more
coverage of the trip in both local and international magazines,
as well as in the upcoming Empire video. Thanks again to everyone
who made this trip possible, and to all of you who came out
and rode at the stops. You can be sure we will do another
one in the future.

Crash Tour Day 6:

Its
day six on the tour and today we headed to Paul's local park
at "Wesbank Raceway". Most of these ramps are from
the old Arena park and the setup is pretty fun. Unfortunately
a lot of the ramps are in pretty bad condition but that didn't
stop the guys from going off. Here are some pics from today's
session.

Paul
shredding his home turf with a cranked turn down.

Paul
with a whip over the spox.

Paul
with a no foot kan.

Brendon
Jacobs was cranking these 360 tables over the spox. these
were beauties!

Brendon
with a no foot kan.

Devin
was also charging the park and was doing the most amazing
nose dive 360's.
Well
that's what went down today. Tomorrow is the last stop on
the tour and we are heading to the park at Brightwater Commons.
Its going to be a good one so we hope to see you all there!

Crash Tour Day 5:
Today
the crew hit up the Festival Mall park. This park is super
fun and has a nice mix of street and park obstacles. All the
guys were enjoying the setup and the riding was insane. One
again there were tons of locals at the park, and a big thanks
must go out to all the kids ho showed up and made it such
a fun ride. Here are a few pics from the session.

Here
Greg Illingworth whips off the ledge in the background onto
the pyramid. The ledge he hopped of was pretty short so it
made this even harder. Greg was a trooper though and nailed
it super smooth.

Malcolm
Perters was loving this park, and didn't stop once the entire
session. here he is with a flair from the flat quarter to
the flat bank.

Here
is a pic of Stephen Savage with a nose manual over the pyramid
grind box.

Wayne
Reiche has joined the trip for the Joburg leg and was killing
this park. here he is with a huge fuf on the back rail of
the flat bank.
Tomorrow
we are off to ride some street and also hit up the Wesbank
race way park. This park is Paul Soderlund's stomping ground
so it should be good to see him ride on his home turf. Check
back for updates tomorrow!

Crash Tour Day 4:
We
arrived in JHB late this afternoon and headed straight for
the Montecasino Skate park. The park was packed with riders
and it was great to see such a huge turn out. The park was
pretty slippery but all the guys really enjoyed the session.
Here are a few pics for you guys.

Tim
Dell with a clicked turn down from the bowl corner to the
flat bank.

of the local kids "Brad" with a wild flip from the
bowl to the flat bank on the far right.

Paul
Soderlund with a table over the bowl hip. Paul was stoked
on this table and wanted everyone to know that he likes rice!
Tomorrow morning we are heading
off to Festival Mall park. Check back for more!

Crash Tour Day 3:

Today's
riding involved a mission to the Indigo camp in the valley
of 1000 hills, and a late night session at the Durban beach
park. The day at Indigo was a real laid back affair with most
of the guys spending the day at the river before sessioning
the ramps in the late afternoon.

Some
of the crew chilling on the rocks.

Mpho
and Clint cliff jumping.
The
session on the ramps was so much fun with all the crew riding
until the sun went down. Most of the action went down on the
mini, with some crazy stuff going down.

Paul Soderlund was killing the
ramp and was blasting these awesome tables.

Brad
Illingworth had the biggest pop on this ramp and was airing
higher then anyone else. Here he is with a dope toboggan air.

Matt
Macleod was blasting the vert ramp most of the time, but took
a few minutes to shred the mini. He pulled a whip to tap,
to ice pick to fakie on the opposite side, to fakie whip on
the opposite side... It sounds like a mouth full but was awesome
to watch.

After
the sun went down we headed to the beach park in Durban. All
the guys were keen to ride this spot as the weather had prevented
them from having a session in the previous days. Unfortunately
this resulted in all the still cameras being put down in exchange
for video cameras, so we don't have many pics from the session.
We do have this belter of Greg fast planting out over the
wall though.
Well
that's it for today. Tomorrow we depart for JHB so keep checking
back for more updates on the road.

Crash Tour Day 2:

Today
was the second day of the tour and we all headed down to Wavehouse
for the Fox Pro-Am. The weather was awesome and there was
a super good turn out for the event. The level of riding was
crazy and everyone who rode was killing it.

DK
team rider Matt Macleod won the big trick comp with huge moves
like these flip whips, and double whips over the box.

Odyssey
Team rider Colin Loudon got third place in the park comp,
and was riding super good. Here he is with a huge tire grab.
One of the highlights of the comp was Colin's hop whip off
the top of the 8' quarter to flat! Pulled first try!

Second
place went to Malcolm Peters. Malcolm put together some amazing
runs with tons of big tricks back to back. Here is a pic of
him with a one footed invert.

The
winner of this years comp was Greg Illingworth. Greg was riding
full blast all day and was going huge all over the park. His
aggressive riding also earned him the full throttle award
at the end of the day.

1st - Greg Illingworth
2nd - Malcolm Peters
3rd - Colin Loudon

Crash Tour Day 1:
Well
today was the official start of the Gate Crash Tour! The tour
shirts arrived and they look awesome! These shirts are going
to be given away free at each of the stops, so if you want
one make sure you you come ride with us at one of the stops.

This
is how happy Brad is with the shirts... Needless to say he
is pleased as punch. A big thank you must go out to Toby at
Fittees for getting these done for us in record time! Thanks
man!
The
Fox Pro Am was postponed until tomorrow (Dec 11) due to rain,
so the crew was forced to spend the first day finding dry
spots to ride. First up was a session in the warehouse with
all the crew.

Here
is a pic of DK team rider Matt Mcleod boosting a table on
the nibbler. Matt was cranking these tables and turn down
out of this quarter.

The
guys also had a "fakie limbo" contest which involved
riding under the limbo pole and up a quarter, and then rolling
fakie back under the pole. D-star owned this comp and was
consistently getting under the height pole both regular and
fakie.

Next
up all the guys headed out to the local mall to session the
banks under the parking lot. Here is newest team rider Brendon
Jacobs with an invert.

Sunday
team rider Stephen Savage was shredding this spot and was
putting together some awesome lines. Here he is with a big
180 hop over a shopping cart.
There
were so many riders at this spot that security didn't know
what to do with themselves. They were actually really cool
about us riding there and let us fide for a full 2 hours before
asking us to leave. One of the guards even borrowed Tyrone
Bradley's bike and tried to do a few tricks... funny stuff.
All in all day one was a lot of fun even though it was raining.
Tomorrow looks like it will be sunny though so we hope to
see all of you at the Fox Pro Am.
More
tour updates coming tomorrow!

Shopping
for a new bike?
If
any of you are in the market for a complete bike but aren't
too sure what you need, then head on over the the Riot web
page. The guys compiled a really nice info page on their web
site that explains all the different things you should consider
when shopping for a complete. They have all the specs of the
07 DK's up there, as well as a run down on frame geometry,
and BMX jargon. A very informative and interesting post. If
you are looking for a bike then it is definitely worth checking
out.

2nd
DK Shipment has arrived:

Today
has been absolutely crazy here at the warehouse with the arrival
of the second shipment of 07 DK completes. We are now fully
stocked on all the models and we have been shipping bikes
to our stores all day long.

All
of our stores should have their orders by the weekend so head
on down to your local DK dealer and check them out. We also
have the DK parts and accessories order arriving tomorrow
which includes, DK chopstix cranks, DK jumping seats, grips,
and random wrenches. These products should also be in stores
in the next few days.
All
the guys who went on the trip to Dubai also got back home
this afternoon. Tyrone called to fill us in on the trip, and
It sounds like they all had a really good time. Tyrone has
promised to send us some pics in the next few days, so as
soon as we get the pics we will have a full report for you
guys on the trip and what went down.

News,
News, News:

We
start off this month with a fresh bike check from Odyssey
team rider Colin Loudon. Colin spent the last 2 days here
in the warehouse completely rebuilding his bike from scratch...
New paint, New parts, and a lot of sticker placement deliberation.
Colin's bikes have always been dialed but this has to be the
best one yet! head on over to the team page and click on his
profile to get the full run down on his new machine.
We
also have some news from the guys in Dubai. Tyrone says he
bumped into Rick Thorne at one of the demos (pretty random),
he also says they have been filming a bunch with Greg's new
camera, and that he fell during one of the demos resulting
in a peg to the face! He says its not too bad though and that
he just has a few cuts and bruises, but no need for stitches.
Buddy has dislocated his thumb so he is out for the rest of
the demos, and Wayne Reiche passed out from heat exhaustion!
It sounds like some of the guys are having quite a rough time
of it. Greg seems to be doing well though, and just purchased
a new video camera that he is putting to good use. They guys
are due back in a few days time so we will have some pics
of the trip for you soon.
Well
that's it for today. Check back for more news in the coming
days.
